An American televangelist gives a wide-ranging sermon, covering the Mayflower covenant, his recent appendicitis and his belief he will live to 120. He spends several minutes sharing how he deliberated about whether or not to “bless a man” at a hardware store with a $100, $20, or $5 bill. The man, now deceased, later became a member of his church. As he recounts the story, the pastor mentions the man’s surviving wife is sitting in the audience.
